HARM REDUCTION SERVICES

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Initial contact and information for people wishing to access our services. The assessor will take basic details and arrange an appointment for a full assessment as soon as possible.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Community Outreach Workers work with hard to reach populations of drug users, delivering harm reduction information and signposting to relevant agencies if a specialist intervention is needed.

DIRECT ACCESS DROP IN

The sessions are informal to encourage a climate where you are free to talk about your substance use. Staff are available to provide comprehensive harm reduction information and advice and can sign post and refer to appropriate agencies for further support. Auricular acupuncture is available at every session.

Monday: Rare Unit; this is a friendly, street level session for stimulant users.

Tuesday: BBV session. Information advice and support regarding blood borne viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis B & C. Attendees can be referred to specialist services for screening and treatment if appropriate.

Wednesday: Aftercare session, for any advice about housing support, advice about benefits, education etc

Thursday: Open drop in session

Friday: Open drop in session

STIMULANT SERVICE

We offer services specifically for people wanting advice and support on their use of stimulants (including crack, cocaine, amphetamines and speedballing). The team have specialist knowledge in Harm Reduction strategies that have immediate practical application to service users. We run both relapse prevention groups and a structured stimulant self control group as well as the “RARE UNIT” drop in on Monday mornings. Practitioners are trained in Auricular Acupuncture.
